Gone too far

The American Imperialism page has actually gone too far in one direction. Whilst this talk page was initially created to speak regarding the softness of the article regarding the topic, the entire article has been revamped in the opposite direction. Thus, it is still not a neutral article. In most other professional and encyclopedic versions of articles I have read on Wikipedia, historians are cited occasionally to give a point of view, but in this article it is so cluttered with negative historical views of America's foreign policy, you miss out on the actual informative things. Expansion of timeline

The timeline currently goes only up to the USA in Korea and Vietnam. Needs a massive edit to add everything after that, such as:

Iraq War, Afghanistan, Operation Condor, Grenada, Indonesia and US support of the coup there (Jakarta Method) among many others. Genabab (talk) 21:23, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

1800s American expansion through artistic expression

I think that adding a section on how public opinion manifested itself in artistic expression with relation to American expansion would be beneficial in exploring responses and gauging the consensus at the time concerning American pursuits for territory. Looking into how C19th art was used to rally support and criticize US expansion will help conceptualize such a multifaceted period of time Maisiesucks (talk) 21:26, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

2025 Trump remarks

I think it’s fair to mention the new remarks done by Donald Trump on January 7th 2025.

It shows, specifically, Trump’s American irredentism which is safe to say is imperialistic.

He claimed that, Trump refuses to rule out the use of the military to occupy the Panama Canal and Greenland (one of the many sources: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/jan/07/trump-panama-canal-greenland) , and on top of that he continues to talk about a possible use of “economic force” to lead to an eventual annexation of Canada (once again, one of the many sources: https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5071665-trump-economic-force-canada/) .

This comes after a series of remarks by Trump in the past few weeks, and also already saw the first European reactions with the Danish PM stating: “There is a lot of support among the people of Greenland that Greenland is not for sale and will not be in the future either. Greenland belongs to the Greelanders,” and also the The French foreign minister, Jean-Noël Barrot, told France Inter radio: “There is no question of the EU letting other nations in the world, whoever they may be, attack its sovereign borders.”

Many newspapers also claimed that this was a “Imperialist remark” by Trump such as “Le Monde”(https://www.lemonde.fr/en/international/article/2025/01/08/donald-trump-s-rhetoric-of-a-new-american-imperialism_6736821_4.html) , NBC news (https://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/video/trump-makes-apparent-push-for-new-era-of-american-imperialism-in-wide-ranging-press-conference-228703301715) and Defense Blog (“https://defence-blog.com/fears-of-a-new-era-of-colonialism-after-trumps-comments/”) Samvwa (talk) 11:41, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
